Spike Gbg Beer Week 2020

The official beer of the Gothenburg Beer Week 2020. We got the huge honour to be chosen to brew the offical beer. It was a big resposibility and real challenge. The beer was supposed to break new grounds, be accesible to a wide group of people and at the same time represent what we were all about. After hours of thinking and dwelling we decided to brew a Kveik ale with only Swedish and Scandinavian ingredients. To be original in craft beer is getting more and more difficult. We all use the same ingredients and go for the same flavours and theres barely a country in the world were you cant find a Ne Ipa. Our apporach was to brew a beer that took the local aspect in to account, something that couldnt be easily reproduced and at the same time be modern and really drinkable. This is were we landed. A beautiful scandinavian ale full of interesting flavours.

We brewed the beer with fresh Swedish hops from Korngårdens Humle, heritage malts from Warbrokvarn and the Opschaug Kveik strain from White Labs Copenhagen! Light, drinkable, hoppy and heritage tasting. Accessible to all.
